Regional Purchasing Manager (East)

This position is responsible for material procurement for all Butterball locations and oversight for location personnel. Direct oversight of centralized purchasing for the region including all daily material replenishment, as well as the requisition process for the region.


Responsibilities:



  • Vendor selection, pricing and the purchase of all materials including but not limited to: maintenance, repair and operations; live operations, operating supplies and capital expenditures.

  • Implements systems to control expenditures of the company using ?best practice? for accountability, competitiveness and cost saving initiatives.

  • Manages company assets (inventories) to ensure best return to company.

  • Reviews contracts for goods and services to ensure all contractual agreements are executed to meet Butterball requirements.

  • Hires, trains and retains the regional purchasing staff.

  • Conducts vendor and product research to identify cost savings initiatives for the company

  • Shares best practices amongst facilities.

  • Reviews capital expenditure forecasts and procures all goods and services for the region.

  • Tracks, reviews and reports on key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.

  • Reviews SAP inventory for turns and maintenance.

  • Problem solves with vendors to address issues with outages, quality, delivery, etc.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain or other related discipline preferred and a minimum 5-7 years of experience in a purchasing role, preferably in the food production industry.

  • Strong organizational skills required to coordinate and manage multiple cross functional work processes and projects.

  • Excellent time management and planning skills required to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously while adapting to changes in business requirements in a fast-paced environment.

  • Self-motivated with strong analytical, problem solving and follow-up skills. ?

  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team and develop collaborative relationships at all levels of the organization.

  • Demonstrated decision-making ability, including the ability to anticipate problems, develop contingency plans and act quickly to resolve issues.

  • Proven track record of accomplishments and continuous improvements in purchasing.

  • Two years? previous experience in a management/leadership role, with demonstrated ability to develop team members.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, internet navigation and research.

  • Experience with SAP preferred.


 

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
